  1. Hi, Edi! I don’t know if you include Black creators who live outside the U.S., but I translated from Portuguese the YA graphic novel Our Beautiful Darkness by Ondjaki, illustrated by António Jorge Gonçalves, and published by the wonderful small press Enchanted Lion. Ondjaki is from Angola, and this is the first novel for kids and teens to be translated and published in the U.S. from Lusophone Africa. The novel was published on September 3, 2024.
