Latino Heritage Month begins on September 15, the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries—Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico declared its independence on September 16, and Chile on September 18.

I plan to celebrate this month, and I’ll be taking you along for the ride!

To get things started, a little promotion from JoAnn Hernandez.

Rep Your Favorite Latino/a Book for Hispanic Heritage Month

To Participate, you will need to do a Daily Acts of Publicity.

1.  You can choose to concentrate on one Latino/a author you all ready know; you can choose a different Latino/a author/book each day; you can promote a Latino/a book you like, even if you don’t know the author.

2.  Post a comment when you complete the review on BronzeWord Latino Authors with a link to your post, what type of review it is, and your email address. OR tell where you promoted the book (Twitter, Facebook, MySpace…) in a comment.

3.   At the end of the week, a name will be randomly picked and a book will be awarded.

4.   There will be a grand finale winner for the person who posts the most reviews for the five weeks.

  1. Thanks for explaining why Hispanic Heritage Month is in September. I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t know that it was because of all the independence days, but now I do!
Chile’s independence day is on my birthday, Sept. 18 🙂
I’m strapping in my seat belt and heading along for the ride!
