Books for Kenyan Students

Donations of novel sets (15-20 copies of the same title)  appropriate for a book group in Kenya have been requested by Barbara Jones:

“Our group consists of students from my school and an equal number from one of Nairobi’s poorest slums. Several such book groups were formed this year by the Kidslib Trust (an organization that establishes community libraries in Kenya (to learn more about it, see: http://kidslibstrust.org/), but we struggle to get enough copies of the same book. We can fund the cost of postage, so if your school is discarding a set of novels with a reading and interest level of age 9-12, that you think might work for us, please email me directly. We like to choose titles that focus on issues of leadership and universal social/family issues. After our group reads the book, the set will be donated to Kidslibs for one of their needy (but well maintained) slum libraries, or it will be used by another KidsLibs book group like ours.”

This could also make a nice community service project for a class!
