I love the energy over at ColorOnline!! After announcing current contest winners THREE new give-a-ways were announced, not included online loans through Shelfari! This is a great site hosted by a team that uses literacy to empower young women of color.

I heartily second that emotion! I listened to a podcast yesterday about women of color in the blogosphere (see the blog What Tami Said); I agreed with some of the remarks, but *disagreed* with comments suggesting that black women online don’t support one another…that has not been my experience AT ALL! And Susan at Color Online/Black-eyed Susan is a FORCE to be reckoned with…

Thanks Zetta and CQ,
I’m confess, I will stir the pot. I think we can and do support one another, Zetta. I also think we can do more.
I think in the blogosphere we can do more. I don’t want to be a passive audience and I don’t want readers stroking my ego. I want engagement. That is a huge advantage of the immediacy of blogs and the ability to comment and link. Women of color bloggers can impact more, reach more by leaving the comfort of their islands and established cliques.
I’ll be back here for more.
Thanks for the kind words.

I have to add your list of authors on our sidebar. Stay tuned for a new menu bar.
Did you read When Kambia Elaine Flew In From Neptune by Lori A. Williams? Beautifully written. A powerful read.
