Things are pretty much cleaned and repaired so, I’m bringing in boxes from the garage. As I open each of them, I find books! I find big books with clothes and linen, trying not to put a lot of heavy books in on box. I find books and what-nots and boxes and boxes of just books. Picture books like “The Stories Julian Tells” and “Shaka” that I read to my children. I find my signed copies from Walter Dean Myer and Jerry Spinelli. I find “Forever Amber” from high school days and want to read it again, after I reread “When Kambia Elaine Flew in from Neptune” and “Buffalo Soldiers” . And there are the professional books on reading, on libraries and on high schools that I need to read. I have litte time now just to finish “Conception” and to get a review posted, and school starts next week!
So, I’m wondering: just where is the library job where you get to sit and read all day?
