The Longest Walk will soon be in Indianapolis. This is an incredibly powerful movement and is being celebrated by Native Americans across the country. While the walk commemorates political activism, it is more about spirituality and protecting the environment.
The walkers will arrive in Indiana on May 19 and will walk across the State during that week. We will be holding a press conference at the Eiteljorg Museum on Thursday, May 22. We need your help on several fronts. With just a week before they arrive, I have been charged with creating a warm welcome for these dedicated folks and showing support from our State. I need to be able to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for the walkers and also for smaller items. The walkers are in desperate need of tents, socks (both men’s and women’s), and gift cards for incidental purposes. If you are in a position to assist, or would please forward this information out through your various sources I would most sincerely appreciate the assistance. Support can also be given in the form of direct (and deductible) donations: To donate to the Northern route of the Longest Walk, send them to www.longestwalk.org and make sure to tell them to click on the NORTHERN ROUTE button on the left hand side of the page. The Northern and Southern routes are two different accounts and it is the Northern Route that will pass through Indiana!
