It can be difficult finding ways to reach young adults who are female athletes. One way may be to tell them about the new radio show hosted by Ida R. Muorie, the “Oprah of Sports.” The show premieres on April 10, 2007 at 8pm(Eastern), 7pm(Central) and 5pm(Pacific). “The Sportsmavericks Show” will be featured this year on the new sports channel VoiceAmerica Sports. To access the show, listeners will need to log on.
In Ida’s premiere show, she will talk to “Sports Legends Helping Kids Reach For The Stars!” Muorie’s guest will include NASA Astronaut Leland Melvin formerly of the NFL and Henry Lawrence, 2005-2006 nominee for the Football Hall of Fame in Canton. Special Guest will also include Tennis Great Andrea Jaeger, who was recently ordained a Dominican Nun and runs the Little Star Foundation, and is the author of a best selling book, First Service by Andrea Jaeger. The book describes Sister Jaegers journey from Tennis to a lifetime dedication of service.
