Last week, I was stranded in Memphis. This unplanned visit gave me the opportunity to do something I rarely do: watch regular CSPAN. (I usually watch BookTV every weekend.) I was so fortunate to see the swearing in ceremony of the Black Congressional Congress! I heard the accomplishments and saw the faces of many who have done so much, but received so little fame! In her remarks as the new head of this group, Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick was inspiring in hopeful about what can be accomplished during these important 100 hours. I had to write down this quote:
“We must stand up and we rise up now because the children are watching”.
Not just for these 100 hours, but for generations to come!
