I just shared these suggestions with a friend on how to keep up with all the great books out there when you can’t afford (or your library can’t afford) the print journals used as selection tools. I suggested the following.
1. subscribe to a couple of good YA blogs. I set up a google homepage and use the RSS feeds to keep up to date on reviews.
2. subscribe to the YALSA listserv! You don’t have to be a YALSA member.
3. visit publisher’s webstites. You can sign up for mailing lists and while you’re there enter contests for free books!
4. visit websites for libraries you like. Most of them have blogs or webpages where they list reviews. Bookmark the ones you like
5. create a my space account, link up with the many teen authors on there and really get in the know! (I don’t have the energy to do this one!)
This what I could think of, but it would be great to hear some more suggestions!
