I just returned from the NEH Workshop “Pearl Harbor: History, Memory and Memorial” which was truly an awesome learning experience! Sometimes we urban educators get so bogged down in the trenches, dealing with basic needs and concerns we forget our students need and deserve the richest content possible to excite them about learning. This one week workshop definitely provided the resources to engage students in studying about Pearl Harbor and WWII. Next, I’ll have a similar experience learning about Congress and the Capitol.
Check flckr in the next couple of days for workshop photos.
