As a member of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, I was recently asked participate in an hour-long panel hosted by Netflix to amplify important conversations on identity, race and social justice that Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices has built on for young kids. Librarians Karen Lemmons, Tamela Chambers and KC Boyd developed the booklist that is the foundation of the Bookmarks program.
Both Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and the Black Caucus of the American Library Association partnered with Netflix to do this important work.
The panel will be live on the Netflix Family Facebook page and recorded to be posted on NetflixBookmarks.com as an evergreen resource for parents and caregivers to easily access and continue the conversation after watching the series.
