What book(s) are you currently reading? Black Enough: Stories of Being Young & Black in America, a short story collection edited by  Ibi Zoboi

Why do schools need librarians in their libraries?: Because not all children have a grown up who will take them to a public library. Because there is a a lot of talk about reading scores, yet not enough talk or action around  the fact that if a school has a robust and supported library, that can have a major positive impact on raising scores. Because sometimes kids need a safe haven between classes. Because school media librarians are teachers, too.

Thinking about libraries in general, when you see a thriving, successful, growing area, 9 times out of 10, you will find a strong and supported library system in that community.
